At the 30-inch height, use it as a regular dining table, or even a desk. At the 36-inch height, use it as a counter-height table or tall desk. Leaves are placed at the ends of the table between the middle and very ends. When you remove the leaf, the end of the table remains intact to keep the tapered edge.
