Inspired by the tropical craftsmanship of the West Indies and the cane accents of the classic British and Dutch Colonial design periods, the Charleston Three-Drawer Accent chest has bamboo-motif trim and lovely handpainting on the drawer fronts with a Heron and botanical design. The interiors on the 3 self-closing drawers are the same color as the exterior. Crafted in Maple Veneers, the chest is finished in Haint Blue, a soft color which can be found on the ceilings of porches and entryways, window shutters and doors in the American South, dating back more than 200 years from the Gullah folklore that held the color kept “haints” or spirits from entering homes and dwellings. The round knobs are antique bronze-colored.
